Too Faced Chocolate Bar Dupes

on the top middle left shade in Wet N
    Wild's "Vanity" palette. L-R Urban
    Decay Beware, Too Faced Milk
    Chocolate, Too Faced Chocolate
    Soliel Bronzer

None of these are exact dupes but there you go. It's comical to me how similar Milk Chocolate is to the bronzer. This collection that includes the palette was inspired by the bronzer. They look identical in the pans

L-R Triple Fudge and the matte brown
    from the Smashbox Mother Earth
    palette

The Smashbox matte is one of the worst mattes I've ever used. You can see how patchy and splotchy it is. Not to mention how it lacks in pigment. These shades looked identical in the pans. But Triple Fudge is definitely the superior shadow.

L-R Salted Caramel and the top left
    shade from the Physicians Formula
    Classic Nudes quad

These two shades are almost indentical. Not only in shade but the texture was spot on.

L-R Marzipan and Urban Decay Sin
    from the NAKED palette

Not an exact dupe, but I'd assume on the lid they'd look similar.

L-R Candied Violet and Wet N Wild
left "Definer" shade from Petal Pusher

Again not exact. Oddly enough the Wet N Wild shade was a more pigmented and smooth shadow.

L-R Hazelnut and right "eyelid" shade
from Wet N Wild's Nude Awakening
    palette (LE)

Other than Hazelnut having a more red based undertone they're pretty close!

    L-R Creme Brûlée and Wet N Wild's
left eyelid shade from the Sparkle Til
    Morning palette

The WNW shade is more of a true yellow gold. This is the reason Marzipan is such a flattering gold.

L-R left definer shade from WNW's
    Comfort Zone palette, Cherry Cordial,
    and MAC Vainglorious (LE)

Obviously these are nowhere near a dupe. But they did appear to be similar in the pan. This is just to prove even though they look similar or the same in the pan does not mean in practice they will resemble one another!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review

The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is one of the first palettes from Too Faced I've been excited about since I don't know when. It's a palette that's very warm, rich, and chocolatey with a few colors thrown in. I could see this being a great everyday palette that you could have a soft daytime look to a sultry smokey look.

Too Faced obviously gets an A+ for packaging and theme. From the box the palette comes in, the palette itself, the smell, to the names you see exactly what Too Faced was trying to do.

The colors are stunning! And this is a complete palette. You have your mattes, shimmer, metallics, and a few glitters, which is typically not my favorite. But you came to see some swatches and colors!

From left to right

Gilded Ganache is a deep olive khaki color. Colors like this look amazing on hazel and brown eyes. This is one of the four shades that has the glitter in it. All of which don't have the soft texture of the other shadows

White Chocolate is a matte cream shade. This is not the most unique shade but can be one of the more used shades. Even though I would have preferred two more shades in this palette (instead of two shades that are twice the size) I appreciate this shade being larger because I go through these colors quickly.

Milk Chocolate is one of my favorite shades in the palette and favorite shades to wear. It's a warm camel brown. This is a perfect shade for a soft crease or a transition color.

Black Forest Truffle is another sparkle frenzy shade. It's a deep cherry plum shade. Again the texture isn't as soft and buttery as some of the others, but considering some of Too Faced older glitter shades this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Triple Fudge is a deep chocolate matte brown. This is the worse matte in the palette. It's not a horrible matte but considering the texture of Milk Chocolate and Salted Caramel I would expect more. It is a but difficult to blend and build up. Not impossible to use, you just have to baby it a bit more.

Salted Caramel is similar to Milk Chocolate in depth but this is a bit more orange and easier to build up. The texture of this is amazing. Especially for it being a matte shade.

Marzipan is some what of a golden peach. This is a perfect lid shade for day to day and this shade is so pigmented and buttery.

Semi-Sweet is the last matte in the palette. This is lighter and more red toned than Triple Fudge.

Strawberry Bon Bon is a satin milky light pink. This is not my favorite shade and this one seems to be a bit more chalky than the rest of the shades.

Candied Violet is just that a violet shade with some glitter. The name is perfect but I don't typically reach for shades like this, but for purple lovers I could see this being a favorite.

Amaretto is a sparkly warm taupe. This shade is very pigmented and another shade I could see being a favorite everyday color.

Hazelnut is a very warm orange shimmery brown. I love shades like this. This shade would make hazel and blue eyes pop!

Creme Brûlée is a shade I would have assumed would be more beige than the gold it is. This is a very soft gold and not a harsh yellow gold or harsh brass gold.

Haute Chocolate has a tiny bit of olive undertones. This shade just makes me think of fall haha. It is a pigmented and smooth shade.

Cherry Cordial is a reddened dark brown with some shimmer. The texture is a little bit dry so I could see this one being a bit harder to blend out.

Champagne Truffle is the second and last double sized shade. Again this isn't the most unique shade but every palette needs a good highlighting shade for the inner corner and brow bone.

All in all I am a big fan of this palette. I'm sad to say this is a limited edition palette because I'm sure most people will want this and could use it daily. So whether you like the theme of the palette and collection or not this is still a useless palette for anyone's collection!

New Limited Edition Palettes From Wet N Wild

While browsing around in CVS I stumbled on the new Wet N Wild palettes, I'm assuming their for the holiday collection they've got out right now. They're an 8-pan palette but the lay out is very different from the permanent 8-pan palettes

The way WNW describes this is the top three "overcoats" are for browbone. The middle three "pearl" shades are for the lid, and two "matte" shades for defining

I am a HUGE fan of the WNW Color Icon line! However the "overcoats" in these palettes I am not a huge fan of. They have rather large glitter particles that have some major fall out. I could never imagine putting these shades on my brow bone, maybe an inner eye highlight or even on top of another shade, seeing how they're also rather sheer.

Lights, Camera, Attraction is probably my least favorite of the three. These are not colors I typically reach for in general and after swatching I was left with a less than pleasant result compared to most WNW Color Icons

Most of these shades are quite lacking when swatched. They took quite a bit of product to get a good swatch, and some shades especially the bright blue was splotchy. As far as the "overcoats" I'm not sure why companies feel it necessary to have a top of over coat nowadays. The matte shades in this palette are fantastic! They are what I have come to expect concerning WNW matte shades. I have not used these palettes in practice as of yet and they were also swatched without a primer or base.

A Great Glistener has a lot of shades that I reach for in them. While I like the pearl and matte shades again these shimmer overcoats are not something I can see myself using. They also don't seem to fit very well in this palette.

The overcoats took several layers to get a shade that you could actually see. The first two pearl shades I was not impressed with. They're quite similar once swatched. Although one is a grey and the other blue. The tarnished almost dirty gold/bronze shade is gorgeous. It is richly pigmented and the creamy texture I've come to know and love from WNW. I could see this shade work on most people. The matte shades are shades I'm sure most people will have in their collection. A matte black (although not the blackest) and matte chocolate brown.  I'm almost positive that these two are the same shades in the I ❤️ Matte and Drinking a Glass of Shine palettes.

No Neutral Ground is without a doubt my favorite of the three. This had the most unique colors that I don't have a duplicate in another WNW palette, and I would imagine this would get a lot of use during this holiday season

Again the overcoats I'm not a fan of. They're not pigmented, I'd never use something like them on my brow bone, and the colors seem to clash with the rest of the shades. However the pink overcoat I might think about using, but I'm sure I'd still get some glitter fall out. The lavender pearl shade I'm not a fan of due to the fact it's not pigmented and more of a lavender when swatched than the lavender/taupe shade it appears in the pan. The rest of the shades I have no complaints about. They're richly pigmented, smooth, buttery, and make sense together. The "matte" green shade is the only shade in these palettes that's not matte. I would consider it more of a satin matte.

These palettes retail for $4.99 but when I checked out at CVS they rang up as $5.19. Still for the price I think it's fair if you're a hoarder like me or you really enjoy the shades. Which ones will you be purchasing?
